Bikiya Graham-Douglas is the winner of the Africa Magic Viewers’ Choice Awards (AMVCA) in the best supporting actress category and has starred in many prestigious films, TV series and stage plays. Bikiya has been praised by industry professionals and Audiences for her acting roles and her ability to interpret diverse complex roles.

She was invited by the African Ambassadors’ Association Ireland to perform at Africa Week celebrations in 2015 for which in collaboration with the award-winning British Nigerian Playwright Dipo Agboluaje she developed a one woman show called WAIT. The show addresses girl child education in Africa and has been a success to sold out performances to include presentations at the Cape Town Fringe Festival, South Africa and the Lagos Theatre Festival etc.

Bikiya is passionate about theatre and creating opportunities for all actors in the performing artists eco system and it was to this end that she founded the Beeta Universal Arts Foundation (BUAF) in 2010. It has since grown to become Nigeria’s foremost art organization focused on impacting lives through storytelling and harnessing young creatives through competitions, productions and art education. Under Bikiya’s leadership BUAF has had over forty stage productions, organized training workshops, and was commissioned by UNESCO World Book Capital in 2014-2015 to produce the official plays on the history of the Book

She facilitated an alliance with Fela on Broadway when it toured to Lagos and She also created the Beeta Playwright Competition (BPC), a complete end to end empowerment initiative to discover new playwrights as well as develop the talents of front end and back end theatre practitioners. She also introduced an outreach program with the creative arts departments of Universities in Nigeria who for a little grant perform the winning plays from the BPC. She signed a strategic alliance with I-Skill Limited to offer affordable quality training opportunities in the arts.

Bikiya was given an excellence award by the Nigerian Association of Theatre Arts Practitioners (NANTAP) for her contributions to development in the creative industry.

Bikiya is also a Jazz Singer who loves to speak and impact others by sharing on her knowledge and her expertise. She ran Acting workshops alongside Hollywood Actor Jackky Ido at the Zanzibar International Film Festival (ZIFF) in 2018. She was selected as the only Nigerian Jury Member of Africa’s biggest Film and Television Festival FESPACO In Burkina Faso for their 50th edition in 2019 and is a regular resource person at workshops, schools, festivals and art events across Nigeria.

She established Beeta Productions with focus on telling African stories to a global audience. Some of her credits include a Co-Production Documentary called “Born in Paris Raised in New York” and a Nigerian Documentary Series called “As We Are” she has since launched an initiative focused on adapting all BPC winning plays to feature films. Bikiya was born and raised in Nigeria, she holds a BA. (Hons) in Business Economics with Business Law from the University of Portsmouth and received her acting training from the London Academy of Music and Dramatic Arts, Bridge Theatre Company and Oxford School of Drama. She lives in Nigeria and she loves to entertain, read and is a part of the Prison teaching ministry in her local church.
